Hi,

Does anyone here can explain this kind of requirements from CIC / does anyone have the same request as me…
“ Certification issued by the NBI ( Nat’l Bureau of Investigation local counterpart of FBI) outlining all criminal charges/cases relating to the No Criminal Record remark on your NBI clearance, including the description of the charge, date when the charge was filed and the disposition of the charge”
I went to the NBI office and requested for such a certification and I was informed that since the is NO CRIMINAL RECORD there is nothing to enumerate and describe. Can I send a letter or email to CIC that no such certification is being issued to me since there is no criminal record…Your inputs will be highly appreciated….

Thanks

Are you sure the PCC that you initially sent had "NO criminal record" in it? Did you check the report before sending it to CIC? Sometimes, such reports can have mistakes.

But the quote from CIC does sound strange. Why would they need an explanation for "NO criminal record"? It could be a mistake on their part, in which case you can contact them and let them know about the issue. I would also get a fresh PCC and send it to them. I don't know how long ago your PCC was sent, but CIC usually asks for fresh PCC if it's been more than a year.
