Salam to all of you!
As my fee submission deadline is approaching(June 29th), I would like to know from those who have already submitted their fee. What mods of payment did u used and which one is faster and reliable in Pakistan. I am thinking of two options.

1- Dollar East
2- From my bank, Standard Chartered

Did any one used any of the above..?? Also, as I have already attached bank statement of this account from which I am going to send $6140 ( approx. PKR 540,000), What if VO verifies the amount .. as it will no longer be there.. (Though I have declared around $45,000 with 3 different sources).. will it make any difference..?? Or should I send the fee, get the receipt, Fax / Courier them the voucher, so the VO get notified for any update regarding my case..

Please send me ur suggestion..

P.S.: Non-Pakistani Students are also welcomed to comment

EDIT: I am looking to send it via Wire Transfer, which I heard takes about 2 - 4 business days to reach. Is this correct..?? My College is Humber, so if anyone have Humber experience, I'll appreciate that..!!

Hi,

I was in a similar boat few days back. I submitted my Fees in Seneca from New Delhi.

Most colleges in Canada now prefer a service called "Travelex's Bank to Bank Transfer" which allows you to submit fees in your local currency. The other alternative is Bank to bank wire transfer from your local bank account to your Canadian College account. Credit card is another costly and slow alternative form of payment.

I was initially planning to pay my fees through Travelex but then rejected this option since:

1. Travelex didn't had INR option. To use it, I'd to transfer my fees in USD (INR -> USD) and then it would convert it to CAD and post it in my college account.
2. I can directly transfer funds in CAD from my local CitiBank account.

Now I'm not a finance expert but I know once thing for sure that everytime you convert money from one currency to another, there is a loss. So to avoid twice conversion of currency, and to deal directly with College (in case of any goof-up in transfer) I opted for Wire transfer from my local CitiBank account.

The only thing you must ensure is that your Name, DOB, and college Student ID must be in the instructions of wire transfer. Please make it very-very clear to the person who is doing the wire transfer to include this textual information along with your remittance.

Some bank/officers only transfer the money without the remittance text/instructions and due to which there is a problem later on. I know once person who was in trouble due to this as his fees was in college, but college didn't knew whom fees it was and his admission was almost cancelled.

Always keep the receipt of wire transfer safe as you might need it later. And after a week of your transfer, ask your college to issue a formal receipt to be just sure of (send a scan copy of your wire transfer receipt and details) to be on a safe side.

It takes only 2 days for the transfer.

I also used the same account for showing funds, and paying fees. However, I submitted my fees before applying for Visa and attached the receipt (which had account details). it makes your case stronger.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey Jigzy..Bro..just wanted to know that if i take an admission in Humber college as well....do i have to pay the tuition fees for the 1st semester before applying visa?

1.organise a wire transfer from your native country to the designated account of your college.

2.Wire transfer is imediately man.Send and then confirm the transaction from the accounts office of the college. They will aknowledege the receipt the amount.

ug83,its not amust but people believe that it increases the chances of getting the visa for it shows seriousnes in you.

Remember any payments made before acquisition of the study permit is all at your risk.Dont panic you will get the visa.

Thanks Habil...how much time Humber normally gives to submit the tuition fees..... i.e i am planning to go for Jan in take so what will be my tuition fees submission deadline?

Best regards

Usman

There is a procedure.

Have you paid an enrolment deposit. This helps to secure your spot in the college and allows you to register for many services online e.g housing, courses, meals ,books etc.

There has to be admission counsellor responsible for your region.Consult with her when is the right time to all this. But the earlier the better especially for registration of courses.

My counsellor assisted me all through the way step by step.

May you succeed.

@Habil........i am just gathering information at the moment....have not applied for the admission as yet..I am targeting the January intake so i believe i still have enough time to apply.

Thanks GS_Stud, that was very informative. I am in contact with both bank and Dollar East (In Pak) and they both have different requirements.

1- Bank requires me to open up a Dollar Currency Account (I'll be charged for conversion), than I'll be able to TT the amount in CAD (again conversion rate)

2- Dollar East will directly TT when I provide them cash, but conversion rate from them is too much!! (90.40 PKR per 1 CAD :-( )

Thank you for the post. I don't think Humber has any enrollment fee. I asked them for any but they requested full deposit of first semester fee...

i dont know about pakistan,,,but here in bangladesh almost all the banks allow students to open STUDENT FILE against bank accounts. with this student file you can send your tuition fee through wire transfer or bank draft(converting local currency to CAD$) to your institution. there is no hassel.
once you get the visa these banks you allow you to take room and board costs too.

Jigzyy:

I studied through the university over here . I don't see any point in submitting fees......
- If the purpose of submitting your fees at college is to strengthen your case ..... Sure do it ....
- If purpose of submitting your fees is ...... you want to register for the courses ...and ur deadline is approaching .......> What i did was i contacted university and told them my situation that I have not get visa yet ..... what u want me to do ..... They always have some exception in deadline and they will give u a chance to submit fees at later stage when u arrive ........

Secondly::: you asked that u have given this bank account as proof of funds to Canadian Emabassy and what if the verify ...........Well they will not only verify the account but they will verify the transactions..... so they will know that you sent money to college .......and I did same ..... but at that time they never verified ............

Submitting tuition fees for semester 1 is imp to make ur case stronger ....for sure .....
hope it helps

bank rules are standard ... no matter its pakistan .. india .. bangladesh .......e.g : debit is debit in pakistan .... we never called it credit .......
if you are talking about services ..... wire transfer was there in 1900z...where ever banks were .........that is the oldest method in banks i guess ......
