How to send the applications?

1. Is there a special envelope?
2. Do I need to put each form in a separate nylon bag?
How do I combine the forms?

Is there anything I need to do first online?

1. No, there is no special envelope.
2. No, you don't have to. I did myself put all the forms in one plastic pocket to keep it safe from moisture.
3. CIC has their own order of forms, so basically it doesn't matter. It should be easier though if you combine the Sponsorship Application + related papers together and Permanent residence application + related papers together.
4. No, there's nothing you do first online, except paying your application fees if you have chosen to pay them online.

Just put your papers together and send them to the appropriate adress stated on your application package (don't know which class or are you applying inland/outland)

Use paperclips to sort. I used a box. Too big for a folder. They take it all apart when they receive it. They scan everything. Just ensure proper address and what class on outside box or folder.

We used three separate envelopes and then combined them into one big envelope. The first envelope had the applicant's information, the second envelope had the sponsor information and the third envelope had our proof of relationship documents. We labeled them all 'Permanent Residence Application, Family Class' with the address and the client ID number for my husband and then 1 of 3, 2 of 3 and 3 of 3 on the appropriate envelopes, labeling each with what was inside. We included an overall index for an agent to easily find what they were looking for without having to open all of the envelopes and search. This seemed to work just fine for us.

This thread gave my husband and I some direction when we had no clue how to go about organizing our application to send:

What is a client ID number..?

I saw on option to apply online on cic web site. What's that for?

How do I get some reference number for the application so I can follow the status?

Client ID number is given to those applicants who have their files in process. If this is your first time sponsering someone, you would not have that number.
Once you apply, after a month or so, so you will receive an email confirmation (AOR=acknowledgement of receipt) which will have ur Client ID number and File number. Those numbers can be used to log into ECAS (cic's website) and follow up with the process.
