Sending Passport/Photocopies for PPR

Hi,

I finally received my PPR and I was wondering if some people only sent a photocopies. I am leaving next week on vacation so I will need my passport back. I am from Europe (France) and from what I am reading I will only be required a visa to enter the country in March 2016 which we are not yet. So does this mean that I can only send the photocopy?
Also they say only the biography page so I understand only the page with my passport number and picture is necessary. Correct?

PS: For extra info, Got picked up in the pool mid June, send everything on June 23rd and passed the medical about a month later.

As stated in CIC's website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/final.asp):

Applicants from visa-exempt countries

The ‘Passport Request’ letter instructs the applicant on how to send a photocopy of the bio data page of their passport and, if applicable, the bio data page of the passports of their accompanying spouse and dependent children.
