Sending package through Canada Post

Is Canada Post a secure way to send my pr package? Did you have any issues with them?

We sent ours through Canada Post. It was fine.

Go for expresspost through Canada post with a signature required. Keep your receipt that they give you because it will contain your tracking number.

With that service you'll know when and who received your application.

Because you'll know it arrived and didn't get lost. You'll know that an actual person received it at CIC receiving. If your application is complete you won't get an AOR for several weeks. Some people here have reported they waited nearly 2 months for their AOR. If your application is not complete CIC will send it back but you won't know they did until you find it in your mail box.

The time period between sending it and getting AOR is for many the most nerve wracking time of the whole process.

For a few extra dollars it will give you a bit of peace of mind.

This is especially if you use Canada Post and not a courier.

Oh well... didn't request signature for application but it was sent using xpresspost this past Sunday (Jan 14), and Canada Post tracking indicates it was delivered on Monday (Jan 15) so fingers crossed it was properly received by CPC-Mississauga.
