Hi Guys,
I recently moved to Canada on an open-work permit and am surprised by the speed which I can set up my own incorporation. I intend to provide software contracting services initially.
a) Can someone provide me the information on how my incorporation should be setup so that I can gain some tax advantages. From
what I have read so far it seems that my incorporation should receive income and I have to devise a strategy to get income from it.
- I can myself a salary
If I were to do this do I need to have a payroll system setup i.e monthly payments to myself.
- I can payout myself a dividend
What is the legal time by which I have to tell the canadian tax authorities that i intend myself a dividend or salary.
b) Since my wife is tied to her employer on her work permit ; is it possible for her to be paid out a dividend from the incorporations' income
in order to get the benefits of income splitting.
Can someone provide the appropriate links for this ?
c) How much should I pay an accountant for bookkeeping ?

Thanks in advance for any information.
