Hello

If doing an outbound application, how do you specify that its outbound vs inland? I read some postings that said that its based on the document set you filled out from the CIC website but just wanted to make sure.

Also, my partner was a national living in another country working. She's now living with me. So in the application that's sent to Mississauga, is there a way we can specify/request that the outbound application goes to the visa office in her country, vs the country she was living in most recently?

Merry X-mas everybody :)

Since the Nov change to the IMM 0008 form the field where you select the visa office has been removed.

The outland and inland applications are quite different; the Mississauga office should be able to differentiate between them (thats why they are paid)
and while you send the application is asks for you to specify if its inland or outland on the front of the package where you write the TO.

Now a days the visa office is selected by them since the field was removed; we have seen cases where the file is processing in Canada instead of being send to the visa office.

Thanks for that info.

If they keep the file in Canada I hope it doesn't mean the timelines are like the inland times!! Or do you think it goes to a different 'desk' and not the inland section?

Outland apps processed in Canada are done at CPC-Ottawa, and are completely separate from inland apps. Often CIC elects to keep processing at CPC-Ottawa if the regular outland visa office is overloaded.

As rob to mentioned, outland application are seperate from inland.
