Hello everyone,

I am writing to seek your advice regarding my husband's Permanent Residency (PR) application in Canada. He has recently received a job offer and is currently working as a Scientist in New Brunswick with language level CLB 8. We are trying to decide between the Atlantic Immigration Pilot (AIP) and the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) for his PR application.

We would like to know which of these programs has a faster processing time, and any other information you may have about the differences between the two programs. Any personal experiences or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Hi Oliva7, could you tell me which stream you ended up choosing and what your experience was like?

You can’t compare 2023 and 2025. Was much easier to get PR in 2023 in the Maritimes.
No doubt. We submitted an AIP application to Immigration New Brunswick on Feb 11th and are just trying to get a sense of how long the timeline is to find out whether the province will endorse or not. It will be three months next week. I've not been able to find anyone on this forum who has been able to say how long their wait for endorsement (or not) took.

Don’t think anyone knows. It partially has to do with the backlog of applicants from last year and your NOC. If you’re a nurse for example chances of endorsement and approval are much higher than other professions.

Yeah, our application was for NOC 33102 nurses aides, orderlies, and patient attendants and the job offer was from an NB government run elderly care care facility/nursing home. I have the sense that those positions are in demand.

Yes but not as in demand as some other healthcare jobs. Nobody can really predict what is going on with PNP programs now that they have much smaller quotas. All you can really do is wait while still working towards increasing your score and working towards a plan b.
