did french as a subject upto form three, can speak because of my exposure to work which takes me to diverse nations.can i claim points on this for basic proficiency?

The question you need to ask yourself is how well would you do in TEF. You can claim full points, but could you demonstrate your ability in a test?

Immigration strongly advises that unless your mother tongue is English/French, you should take IELTS/TEF to prove your proficiency. You still can claim any number of points you want but without the TEF backup, they don't have to give you any points at all. If your proficiency letter is convincing enough and you get a nice visa officer who is in a good mood that day, he may give you enough points for your total to reach 67 but maybe you are not that lucky. So.. I guess if you really need the points, look up some TEF preparation material and take the TEF.

Take the TEF and see how you do. You don't have to send the results if you totally bomb it.
