Hello,

Years ago, I've had a study permit as well as a PGWP but have since left Canada 5+ years ago to go back to my home country and have been working here since then.
I didn't pursue PR then.
Now I'm considering a change in careers.
Is it possible to apply for another study permit?
I've read somewhere that you can only obtain a PGWP once but does that apply for the study permit as well?
If not and I finish my studies, is it possible to work in Canada afterwards?
Thank you.

You can apply for another study permit if you meet the eligibility requirements, but cannot obtain another PGWP as it is a once in a lifetime offer.

You would have to find an employer willing to sponsor you for a closed work permit with an LMIA, be eligible for an LMIA exemption, or get a provincial nomination for PR right away. Some provinces (like BC and Ontario) have special streams to nominate master's/PhD graduates in STEM fields.
