I know Germany does not need visa, but if I want to go to France on traveling doc, do I need to provide a letter from work when I apply for my schengen? Thank you!

All depends on the country’s visa application. They usually want to see that you’re working and that you have enough funds to travel with plus reasons why you won’t remain in Europe and will remain in Canada like job, house, etc.

Thank you for answering my question. So I am guessing it is not a mandatory but it is better to provide it.
