I entered express entry pool about two weeks ago. I have a year's experience as a software developer, and am looking at the matches in job bank. Obviously a year isn't much so it could take me some time.

In the meantime I have received three "Invitations to apply" for jobs, and all of them are fake. The websites are quickly generated and full of lorem ipsum boilerplate text and stock images, the services are vague and they supply generic gmail addresses.

What do these people have to gain? Are they hoping for personal details? Should I report them? At the moment I'm just ignoring them, although it gets my hopes up every time..!

They are either trying to steal your money or personal identity documents (or both). There's no point reporting them. There's no one to report them to.

In terms of looking for matches on job bank, I personally wouldn't hold out hope that you'll be able to secure a job offer. This tends to be very difficult to do. Make sure you've maxed out your points in all other areas (e.g. ECA, highest IELTS possible, etc.).
