Hello,
Here is an unusual situation.
My spouse has worked as a head chef (B) for the same employer for more than a year - a charity that funds a soup kitchen/cafeteria.
They had to terminate contract abruptly for financial reasons and transfer financing of the job to another charity.
Original contract with initial employer was normally going until April, 2019 but will end this Sept 4th. New contract with new employer starts Sept 5th.
A new WP has been applied for online - expected processing time will be 5 weeks.
Job and NOC are exactly the same.
The position cannot stay vacant for so long, so considering the circumstances in this isolated and remote area of the Great North (NU), can the employer make a special request to IRCC for employer to continue working while waiting for new WP?
Or shall my spouse fly to the closest border and have the WP issued on the spot (he is a US CITIZEN)?
Thanks in advance for a quick reply.
