Hi everyone,

I have been struggling with getting some valid advice with respect to my eligibility/perspectives/potential to successfully immigrate to Canada. Any guidance would be much appreciated!! A bit of background about my situation:

I came to Canada (Alberta) in January 2011 as an international student, finished high school in June 2012 and moved to Vancouver, BC afterwords to pursue my post-secondary. I have simultaneously obtained a Diploma in Business Management and a BBA in Marketing in December of 2015. After months of waiting for my PGWP, I finally got my foot in the door as a sales development representative in a software/tech company and have been employed there full-time for 7 months. I have also been working part-time as a server for over 2 years and still do on weekends and evenings. I have briefly spoken with a couple of immigration specialists and have been told pretty much the same thing - that I basically don't have any chances in immigrating.

I am completely discouraged now and don't even know what to think. Has anyone here been successful in obtaining PR through sales experience? Can this be at all considered skilled work experience? Are there any other ways/immigration streams that would make me eligible at some point? I understand that PNP international graduate may be an option, but I'm a bit lost in the process.

Any insight would be highly appreciated!

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
You have to figure out what the NOC code of your current employment is.

If this job falls under NOC 0/A/B then this experience would count as skilled Canadian work experience. Thus, if such is the case you would have pretty decent chances after a year of full time work experience.

Hi DelPiero07,

Thanks for the response! I think that's where most of the confusion might be coming from, as i can't exactly find a matching NOC job code. Essentially, my job consists of reaching out to prospects, qualifying them and arranging software demonstrations. There is potential to move into a full cycle sales role by the time I reach one year of employment and again, I'm not sure whether or not it would qualify under any streams.

You can try sending an e-mail to NC-NOC-CNP-GD@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca along with a list of your current duties and responsibilities. They might be able to recommend you a NOC code.
