How can you tell that your sponsor is eligible to sponsor you? Do they tell you online in your account?

If yes what would it say?

Today is one month now and still waiting on S.A..

I heard the IRCC send the Sponsor an email directly stating whether he/she is eligible to sponsor. They will either send a letter in the mail or an email stating whether the Sponsor has been deemed eligible to sponsor or if the sponsor has been refused.

Okay thank you

Your welcome! Good luck and hope it works out for you :) I'm still waiting for AOR!

you should first get an email to state that they have acknowledged your app -- this is called AOR1. After this, if the sponsor is eligible, you will get an email -- anywhere from 2-10 days after AOR1 typically

The sponsor will get an email to say they've been approved, and the sponsor's details in ECAS change from In Process to Decision Made.

I did get the AOR1 email on March 27. That was the only email we received for the sponsor. Been a month and no AOR2 yet. In ECAS it still shows in process for the sponsor application.
Hopefully it will be done soon. Praying that all is good.

I would call cic abt that. Thats an awfully long time. Are you inland? That may be why

Yes it's been a long time. Yes my application is inland. I figured the same as well. But will contact them if nothing changes in a week or 2.

My friend applied inland in october and got sa in april. Id check inland threads and spreadsheets for timelines

Wow that's an extremely long time. I will check the inland threads.

Why did it take such a long time? That's 6 months between submitting your application and receiving Sponsorship Approval?

It wasnt me that applied but they got their owp at 4 'onths then sa at 6... cant say why it took so long. Sorry

Okay so normally after AOR people state that you get Sponsorship Eligibility Approval around a month or so after? Does that differ from case to case then?

Under the old application INLAND Spousal applications usually received SA in around 16 months from the date CIC received your app. Since changes from June of 2016, that has been getting quicker. Many seeing them within 12-14 months now.

Under the NEW application, only a handful of INLAND applications have received SA within a few weeks to a few months. There is no real estimation on what is normal now.

OUTLAND Spousal has always received SA within around a months time. This was because the application needed Sponsor Approval before it could be transferred to the Visa Office that would handle the application.
