Hi seniors,

I need some guidence here to understand the situation with my PR application.

I applied for PR under CEC in Aug last year and received MR for me and my wife last week. But, In feb this year, a baby was born
for us outside Canada. I had already informed CPP-O about this and they acknowledged me with the details about what are the
next steps to add the baby to be added to the application.

We received our Medical Request last week but I am still waiting for my son's passport before I can send the updated PR application to CPP-O.
we want to add the new born son to the application and then complete the medicals together after we receive MR for my son.

Today, I received an email from CPP-O asking to pay the RPRF fee for me and my spouse and inform them if there is any addition to the family.

I need to know if I can pay the RPRF fee now and send the receipt together with the updated application with my new born son's details.?

thanks

When you paid the RPRF fee why do you want to wait. You dont have to send a hard copy of the receipt. You can simply send the receipt to CPCO-Cost-recovery.CTDO-Recouvrement-frais@cic.gc.ca . Where as in case of your childs documents you have to send hard-copies as you have to send your childs photographs.

I was in same situation as you last month. I paid the RPRF immediately upon request and sent the receipt. I delayed my medicals a bit as we have 60 days time and then when I received my childs passport I sent the documents and then we received MR for our child. So we could do our medicals together.

RPRF can be paid any time during the PR Process (must be paid before PPR obviously). The earlier you pay, the faster is the processing. When you pay RPRF, it goes in to your GCMS, and then a Visa officer opens your files - finds out everything is paid for - so he jumps in to next step - saving you weeks of waiting.

+1, pay it immediately and send a copy of the receipt (dont forget to fillout the receipt with your details before sending to CIC).

All the best :)

I have not paid the RPRF fee till now. Since, I have not added my new born son to the application till now, how can I pay the RPRF fee for the new born child?

is RPRF fee ($490) should be paid seperately for each applicant in the application?

Should I wait for my son to be added to the application and pay the RPRF fee after I receive medical request for my son?

Your Child does not need RPRF. Only for you and your spouse (CAD $490 x 2 = 980)

Pay RPRF now. If for any reason your PR is refused, you can get whole amount refunded.

" Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) Applicants for permanent residence can pay the Right of Permanent Residence Fee ($490) at the time they submit their application or at a later date when requested.

The processing fee is still required when submitting an application. The following applicants are not required to pay the RPRF:

- dependent children of a principal applicant or sponsor, a child to be adopted, or an orphaned brother, sister, niece, nephew or grandchild; protected persons, including Convention refugees.

You are ok, you informed CIC about your newborn, they will request medicals once you have added him/her to your application. And dependant children of principal applicant doesn't pay rprf, so you just need to pay for you and your spouse
