Hi everyone!

So i have paid my RPRF and submitted my receipt to CPCO-Cost-Recovery@cic.gc.ca as per the instruction.

It has been 3 days, I didn't receive an answer from them! How do I know if they processed it? Do they usually answer the e-mail?

There were 30 days to pay it, so after all, if they don't answer, it is a little worrying to know that you have paid but still remain unsure if they received it.

I received an automated response from that email seconds later, but that just means they received my e-mail, it doesn't mean they processes and added the payment to my file.

There will not be any acknowledgement of receipt. However, you can check with the bank to see if they have debit the amount :)

Well, monies must have been debited from your account if you have a receipt.

But this is correct, there is no acknowledgement of your email to the cost recovery address except for the automatic response.

so basically there is no way to find out if they received your payment or not.

I paid with my credit card so money was definitely debited, but when you pay you don't input your info, it is just an empty receipt...

if they lose someone's receipt that person is basically screwed and is not gonna become a PR...

very smart of cic, very smart... they should let you know if they received a payment

Yah their payment system needs an update.

At least they should say on the email - "Please print this receipt and fill out your info, then send it to given address".

But to help your cause, many people in the past have sent empty receipt and got PPR. So that means some how they are making it work in the end.

I agree. They ought to state in e-CAS whether RPRF has been received. But they don't.

It's okay to submit a receipt without filling in your details on it. The details that you must include in your email correspondence with CIC (your name, date of birth, client ID, and application number) are sufficient to identify your case, and I expect all they really need from the receipt is the serial number.

Consider that the CIC payment receipt is a common template for all the immigration services they offer, and it may be necessary in some cases to fill those details in, because there is nowhere else to put them (for example, if you are posting the receipt on its own).

I actually attached the empty form and one that was filled out, so they should definitely be able to identify me, plus I stated all the info about myself in the body of the email.

What worries me is not the identification, what worries me is that god knows what happens to that email I sent after they receive it. They are people too and might make mistakes, I skip some emails at work myself promising to come back to them later and then never do, so that's why, judging by how I forget to go back to certain e-mails I am paranoid that they might skip some emails or whatever... they definitely need to let us know they received it...

u can check via the following ways

1. check with your bank if the amount has been debit by the canadian embassy on their side, they will be able to do so

2. order GCMS Notes and it will be reflected.

there won't be any acknowledgement through ECAS or receipt issued by visa office.

It doesn't work like that. When you make an online payment, and obtain a receipt, it means the funds were already debited from your account, and have gone to some kind of general receiving account. Emailing the receipt to the cost recovery centre allows them to link this payment to your case.

True, but it's quite likely that a decision will have been made by the time GCMS notes even arrive.

You could also try enquiring with CPC-O, at the address mentioned in the "Request for RPRF and updates" email for updates.

When I bought the bank draft, money is already deducted from my account right away. Half a year later, I called the bank and they were able to trace it via their system the day if which it is debited to the Canadian visa office. So it is definitely possible

Ordering GCMS is another way which will take 30days

Prior to all these, I have tried emailing the visa office but got no replies with regards to that.
