Last week our VO contacted my husband and told him that I had to pay the RPRF fee which I did yesterday by credit card online. I have emailed and faxed CIC and my VO the receipt. I read on the CIC website that it takes 3 business days to register the RPRF fee into GCMS if paid by credit card so why when I researched it does it seem like some people are waiting up to 2 months for the RPRF to register?

Has anyone recently paid theirs and heard anything back from their VO before 2 months?

Thanks ;D

So how come 23 people look at my post but no one answers? Please help? :(

Because most people pay their RPRF fees up front with the other fees. You'll have to wait until a few people who put off paying their RPRF fee until it was requested drop in and comment.

I beg to differ on the up front part from what I have read in the forum but I am not here to argue symantics with you. THanks for your help.

hey sis the only thing you have to do is call the cic office and see if the got your fax....then just ask them how long it will take to get register in the system....my wife took 2 week for them to register it and fax kingston the it paid...just call cic office and ask them

I got a Landing Fee request together with a remedical. It took about 4 weeks for them to process the payment.

wow so long just to put the payment in that is crazy. Thank you Maddants and McDutch!

I just paid mine yesterday and faxed off the receipt today. The instructions on the fee schedule do not include the RPRF under the sponsorship portion so thats how I missed it. I was told over the phone that it takes a few days once they receive the fax.

Not trying to argue but most people do pay it up front because the sponsorship guide 3900 actually states in Step 3, Pay the Fees:

"Note. We strongly recommend paying the Right of Permanent Residence Fee along with your processing fees. By doing so, it will reduce the processing time of your application."

So they do warn you ahead of time about the delay but hopefully it won't take them more than a month to process yours.

Or they could just state that on their website under "applicable fees for sponsorship".

I paid mine at the end of March, I called last Friday to CIC and they told me the RPRF has been registered already on my file. Still have yet to hear back from my VO yet though :(

There is a large dissconnect between CIC and the VO abroad. Just had a fight with the complaints department about the endless circles you are sent in just to make inquiries. I wanted to file a complaint and he said I have to file it with the CEM. So what is the point of having a complaints department that doesn't send your complaint? LOL.

There are way too many inconsistencies in this entire process. What one person tells you, another person tells you something different. It is difficult really but it is good we have other people on here that go through the same thing and at least we can have a basis for timelines etc....

This forum is a great help. You get some great info here that you would not get from CIC.
