role of SIN number in getting work in canada

Hi i want to know what role does SIN number has in getting work , or is it helpfull for getting work permit...

i also want to know what is the difference between work visa and work permit..?

A SIN number is your ID number with the Canada government. It is used for your taxes. When you come to Canada on a work permit or as a PR, you need to apply for a SIN card so you can give the number to your employer. Without it, they can't pay you.

As far as I know, there is no difference between work visa and work permit.

I would like to ask few questions about immigration in Canada if you can help me .My name is Artan 32 years old I'm from Kosovo, I'm married and I have o doughter 9 months,if you can tell me where can I apply for immigration in Canada or if is possible for me to apply or not.
