Hi,

Os Right to freedom of speech and expression applicable to immigrants in Canada? In the last country they used to sulk if I passed on any remark.

As long as the law upholds, nothing to worry about. Government kills journalists? Amazing and surprising as I never heard of such a thing still exists.

Of course, no one can utter words which will provoke others in respectful societies. Sometimes people can get into hot discussion and express their opinions on each other and this happens rarely.

It was in response to a comment I just deleted since I didn’t want to get in a bad mood mentioning my country of origin. :) Responded to OP it only protects from government persecution, which a lot of people get wrong about “right to free speech”…it doesn’t excuse anyone from saying anything at any time without consequence.

But yes, s*** like that still happens, my own (former) country’s government effectively shut down an entire TV station last year for criticizing them; there are reports of journalists and lawyers still being assassinated in open daylight. Those are still mild examples.

Txs and no problem, I understood ppl are sometimes casual and jovial while blogging. That is nothing, politicians themselves are arguing about everything in parliaments. What effect does a mundane citizen’s gossip or rumour have in front of it? Nice day.
