Hello All,
I am a new member. i am thinking of applying for PR under Skilled Worker Class in this month. i have requisite points. The problem i am facing is that i am still pursuing my MBA which gets finished in April 2010. So can i apply now???
As i dont want to waste anytime and its takes 10-12 months for the process.

Kindly advise!!

If you meet the requirements why delay? Commence your application now.

As Far as I am concerned It will be wise to complete the Masters and then apply -.You know you get more points !!

I sort of second Barsindoo, if you qualify already than why waiting for another year or so to complete your education. You can still carry on your education during this process but you won't be able to claim points for Masters.

If you have 67 points, you can go ahead and apply. As far as FSW is concerned, it doesnt matter if you have 67 points or 100 points. Try to count the 'worst case' points.

Secondly, if u r under the 38 list, it can change anytime.

Thanks All for your reply,
i would like to clarify here that i qualify only if i claim points for MBA. But as i had specified before, it gets finished in April 2010. But i am confused should i apply now and provide the documents later when i ll be asked for them, till that time i would have finished my MBA??

Awaiting your replies.

Regards.

According to CIC, you have to wait until u finish your ongoing education.

Did u get all 16 points for english?

Are you sure? I am doing my PhD but I want to start the process with my Masters' degree as I will already gain the required point for education having a Master Degree.

if u will claim points for Masters also, when u submit ur application after few months when they will ask for update documents then that time u would need Master degree also and they will give u 120 days time to submit the documents. If you are confident with your case, you can proceed else you can wait for few months..

Ok let me correct my statement. According to CIC, you have to finish the ongoing education, IF you wish to claim points for that. Shahi will have to wait for some more time. You don't have to, since u already have the points.

To Shahi - as long as u finish the MBA and get the degree or a provisional certificate before the lock-in date, things should be ok.

ok guys couple of questions:

Que1: How much time do u think it takes between when we first apply to CIO and the starting of the period of 120 days.

Que 2: Is provisioal degree accepted? If yes, I can get the provisional degree now. So do you guys think that it is wise to complete my degree and then apply with the provisional degree, or apply now with the provisional degree i have before completing MBA?

Waiting for your replies!!

Regards

A provisional certificate is a document issued AFTER your academic course is completed and awaiting the degree certificate to be formally conferred at teh graduation. If your university issues any document before the completion of the course, it won't be accepted. The rule is clear. Ongoing education must be completed.

Alright Windtunnel i get your point now and pl let me know as to the period it takes to get the FILE NUMBER when we apply to CIO.

That varies with time. When I applied, it was about 3 weeks but now it seems to be longer. Check the timelines in trackitt.com
You will be in a better position to understand the current timings.
