Right of Permanent Resident fee - when to pay?

Hi,

I am about to submit application for my wife no dependants.
I guess I pay:
Sponsorship application $75
Principal applicant $475

But do I also pay
Right of Permanent Resident fee (RPRF) $490
immediately?

If you are on an outland application (so, your application is being processed by CPP-O or a visa office outside Canada AFTER the sponsor is approved in Mississauga) then you can pay it up front or you can wait. If you wait, the visa office will ask the sponsor to pay it (to CPC-M) and it generally takes 2-6 weeks for them to update your file and continue processing it. Most people pay it up front in this case because they don't want the extra delay.

If you are on an inland application (so your application is being processed by CPC-V in Vegreville, AB along with the sponsor application) then you can pay it later. some people pay it the day of landing, while others pay it a few days or weeks prior to landing.

Agreed! If your application is 'outland', pay it up front if it doesn't pose you any hardship.

Should I put mine(sponsor) or wife's(sponsored person) details?

Whoever is paying it. But it doesn't matter, both your names will be on the application anyway.

That is only used if they need to refund. I hope that doesn't happen to you.
