Hey Guys! Really need your help!

I am originally from a country that is not a visa exempt conutry for Canada. I have recently received Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and will be landing in Toronto in December 2016 and start the processing of PR card. However, a few days after landing with COPR, I will have to visit US for 10 days and then return back to Toronto as I have a return flight from there.

I know that the Permanent Resident without PR card cannot travel back to Canada by any commercial carrier (Plane, Bus, Train) but can travel back via "a private vehicle such as your own car" by simply showing the COPR (IMM5292).

The problem is, I do not have a driving license. So, the only solution coming to my mind is to walk across the Peace Bridge and show my COPR and return ticket.

Does my plan make any sense or I'm stuck in this idiotic situation? Please help!

Thanks a lot.

Walking is fine.

Just your passport and COPR should suffice for CBSA. Not sure what you mean by "return ticket" as I assume your ticket would go to USA airport closest to the land border. CBSA will not care about this. After you walk across border into Canada, you could then take a bus or something to Toronto.

Thanks a lot! By return ticket I mean, to My home country. I will actually be moving to Canada in the summer. Its just My copr is expiring soon, so I have to land now
