Hi,

Yesterday we were advised that our permanent visa was approved and were requested to send our passports to London.

We have been given 1 year from the date of meds (4th Nov 2009) to enter Canada. I have a few questions please:

1. On landing, can I enter and then come back to the UK as we are not ready to go permanently just yet?
2. On landing, is there a minimum length of stay required?
3. Once we have obtained landing status, how long do we then have to permanently move out?

Thanks very much

Diane

1. On landing, can I enter and then come back to the UK as we are not ready to go permanently just yet?
-Yes, u can return back the very same day. However, it is 'advisable' to stay in Canada till u receive your PRC [it takes around 4-6 weeks].

2. On landing, is there a minimum length of stay required?
-Nil. However, to maintain your PR status u should 'physically' reside in Canada for 2yrs in every 5yrs.

3. Once we have obtained landing status, how long do we then have to permanently move out?
-The query is not understood.

Thank You - you have answered all my queries. On Landing I won't be able to stay any longer than 3 weeks max due to work commitments. Once we move out to Canada I don't intend coming back to the UK except for the occasional holiday trip, so 2 years in every 5 won't be an issue!!

Thanks Again

Diane
