So your question is not clear are you saying he made a mistake in stating income for 2016 or has just been advise to adjust by his accountant ?. Is the revised 2016 what he actually earned ? Did he explain clearly the discrepancy ?

ya ,they adjust some income by showing some doing cash job etc.my point is thst if we take out a revised print out option c of 2016 income.where the latest date is mention that income is reassed in 2018.will they ask why are you sending reassesed print out option c .

So he essentially committed tax fraud in order to commit immigration fraud.

that is not ok.that is why i'm asking will immigration office will catch this kind of fraud.
Yes they will. Tax fraud and immigration fraud are crimes. I certainly hope that CIC catches them and they are prosecuted accordingly. People who put in fraudulent applications are who make it difficult for everyone else who isn't a cheat or a criminal.

In doing a reassessment so late showing he "forgot" cash income in 2016, there's a good chance he's also been flagged by CRA so will face yearly audits going forward.

This will be investigated as the cash job declaration was late, and it just happened to be enough to meet LICO. There's a good chance he will be caught. No one declares cash jobs so late in the game, so this will likely be investigated
