Howzit, hello, dagse allemal.
First post here, some details to start off:
South African national, been in Canada five years, applying for a Permanent Residency.
In applying for a PR to stay and live in Canada (I already have a work visa that will need to be extended by the CIC - Canadian Immigration Centre), one has to do a TON of paperwork. Testimonials from people who know your relationship, birth certificates, passport copies, Canadian police clearances, Notary Public stamps on testimonials from others, work and home address history for the last ten years in detail, that sort of thing, lots of photos if you're in a relationship with a Canadian, etc. A regte pain in the butt.
I would suggest giving yourself two to three months to complete the work, because some of the information you cannot get yourself, you have to wait on others. Some of that info is for Canadian Police Clearance, and one of those requirements is South African Police Clearance.
If there is a basic interest in what is needed for a Police Clearance in Canada/SA, I will detail some of the steps necessary to get it. Why am I doing this?
Because the Police in Canada gave me incorrect information which cost me extra money (and two weeks), and I would like to save others the time and effort too.
Let me know, have a lekker day.
