Hi everyone!
My fiance is a Canadian and lives there we've been together for two years in LDR we met once last December thought we would meet soon but Covid didn't ask us about our plans.
Now it is possible to visit your boyfriends/girlfriends. We match all the requirements and we plan to get together and get married in spring 2021. Our relationship is going to be assessed. What is it going to be like, what should we provide and what amount? I understand that it includes our photos, probably chats, Skype calls anything more? What works the best?

If you have only met once in public that might not be sufficient proof. How long did you spend together in person? Do you need a TRV or are you from a visa exempt country?

Thank you for your answer! I definitely need a visa. Last December we spent a week in Europe thought we would get married in spring 2020. Before we met we'd been together for a year.

Would start by seeing if you can get a TRV and then try to determine whether your proof of relationship will be enough. You have very little time together in person.

I have very low chances of getting a TRV. Is it different from Visitor Visa? I am not going to immigrate, we need just to see each other and get married after that we will be immediate family members and it will be easier to see each other, we aren't sure we will stay in Canada. Thanks again and Happy New Year!

TRV is the same thing as a visitor visa. That is the biggest hurdle so I would focus on seeing if you can get that first. I am not sure whether only having met someone once for a week will qualify for the travel exception but you need the TRV first so would focus on that first. You'll need to show that you have strong ties to your home country like a decent paying job, property if you have any, have the ability to pay for your trip and support yourself on holiday, etc. Even when you marry a Canadian getting a TRV can be difficult to get so getting married doesn't solve your problems.
