Hi

I would like to know the best route for me if I want to return to Canada to live and work.

I returned home last year after a 2 year iec visa, I have a mechanic trade qualification from my home country (Ireland) but did not work as a mechanic in Canada but in a related job, roadside technician, its what I also work at now at home too.Im 33yrs old, single male, any help would be great, thanks!

Two main options. One would be to obtain a full time job offer from an employer in Canada along with an approved LMIA from that employer in Canada so that you can apply for a closed work permit. The second option would be to apply to immigrate if you qualify. Details about Canada's immigration programs can be found here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp

The IEC program does allow a second participation for your country. However it would have to be a co-op which means you would have to be completing a school program (degree or diploma) that requires you to complete a co-op to graduate.
