Hi All,
Here is my situation, I made a short landing in Calgary with my family in 2015 and went back to middle east where I work, to finish my contract which was ending in mid 2016. My wife got pregnant though and I came back to canada with the intention of settling my family there. I then went back to work and came back in January 2016 for the delivery and stayed 5 weeks with my wife. As the weather was extreme I found it difficult for my family stay there on their own so we all got back in feb. Again, the intention was to return to Calgary at the end of my contract 5 months later. However, due to economic slump that alberta was going through at the time I took the option of extending my contract by one more year. That means this year in august we were all set for going to calgary and wife got pregnant again (did2 pln for this) so now we have to go to canada earlier than planned. I have following questions.

1. At the time of my last baby's birth, we had full intention of staying in Canada but had to leave. I know if we do not stay in Alberta at least 6 months in a year, we do not qualify for free healthcare. Wht is the process of letting them know and pay? What documents will be required?

2. Could this be a problem at the immigration that we left after our last baby and entering agin while wife is pregnant. ?

You have to spend 6 months in Alberta to avail of free healthcare. We are in the middle of Feb now and it's 6 months before August. Either you or your wife would have to go now or you could be faced by a big bill. You will have visits to the midwife for scans and check up and that will increase your costs. I dont think there are any insurance companies who provide maternity insurance. There is no way to get around this.

1. You need to contact AHCIP and inform them of when you left Canada. They will tell you what is required.

2. No, it won't be an issue for immigration.
