I am holder of a work permit, but I moved to the states on Feb 20th 2014. I'm planning to go back to Canada for my graduation ceremony in May 21st. I asked CIC when I was in Canada and I was told I can return to Canada without needing to obtain a visa only if I've been t the states between my departure and arrival from and to Canada. I have a valid Iranian passport. I moved to the states because my husband lives here.
Is this correct? Can I really return to Canada using my work permit? Do I need to show I've been actively seeking jobs in Canada? Do I need to show I'm returning for a job interview?
