I have been living in the states for a little over 10 years. These past 3 years, I developed a drinking habit and acquired 2 D.U.I.s. I completed most of my court obligations except the fines. I'm still paying those off. Recently due to covid and struggling with bills, I have not been paying and been issued a warrant for both fines.
This past week, I received bad news my brothers health is in the decline and been urged to see him as soon as I can. I have the money now to see him due to taxes and the stimulus pay. I cannot pay up to date my fines till I see a judge the clerk told me. I am afraid I'll get thrown in and miss my chance on seeing my brother.
I got my identifications and covid vaccine to cross. I am a returning citizen and not worried about being turned away on those points alone.
But-will those misdemeanor warrants get me arrested or somehow prevent me from crossing? Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated. Currently living in Montana.
