Hi all -
I submitted a spousal sponsorship application nearly a year ago (June 2020). I had a request for biometrics, which I paid and submitted immediately, but given COVID-19, understood that it would be a long time before it was processed.
Fast forward to this year, April 13th, I've received a notification from IRCC asking again for biometrics, but mentioning to disregard if I've already submitted. I called the agents, as it seemed like a weird request, and they said my application on was marked as incomplete and sent back to me on March 23rd noting that there will be a letter with an explanation of why it was returned. I haven't received anything.
Beyond the fact that this is crazy frustrating, I'm trying to find the best next steps for this application. Given they sent it back 3-weeks ago, is it possible that it was lost in the mail? Should I continue to wait for the package or start a new application?
My partner is Canadian, and I feel bad I can't support him by working, and the stress of knowing how expensive it will be should I need medical care as I do not have OHIP—just trying to find the best way of digging out of this mess as soon as possible.
