Hello Forum
My wife has just received her Canadian Citizenship package back as incomplete.
It is noted that the form is incomplete due to the highlighted portion.
Specifically, it states:
"Your application is incomplete or missing information. Incomplete sections have been highlighted on your application. See section "Step 4 - Complete the Applicaiton" in the instruction guide.
If you choose to resubmit a complete application for a grant of citizenship, make sure you include:
- The completed applicaiton form submitted on a version of the application form dated Oct 2017 or later as indicated on the lower left corner of the form;
- Note: the date of signature on the original application will still be used for physial presence calculations.
- All the required documents based on the Document Checklist of the form for a grant of citizenship (CIT-0002); and
- the proof of payment"
The only portion highlighted is Question 13, which asks if you have ever held any other citizenship other than Canadian, to which she's answered yes.
It then asks for detail, though there is no box provided, just the end of the page.
Then question 14 asks for previous passport info, which we provided (and shows her current Citizenship).
My questions.
1. What specifically is required detail for Question 13? Do we just list of her previous citizenship(s) - She is and always has been citizen of the same country (not Canada) - or do I need to provide details about the dates (from her birth to present date)? There is no clear field or description of what is required here.
2. The completed form was dated Nov 17 and marked received Nov 20. As I have only just today received the application back, it has been over 90 days since we signed the original. Our plan would be to update the existing application form, complete a brand new copy of just the application form with today's date and signatures, and send back the full completed package as they returned it to us, plus the new application form copy. Then provide a cover letter explaining what is contained. The reason for this is that the original application already has her photo attached (by them), and all other required documents (fee receipt, document copies, etc). Is this the correct approach, or do I need to resubmit EVERYTHING, photos, receipt, and all, from scratch?
Thank you for your time.
