There is no limit.

Keep in mind a normal visit is usually one or two weeks. So the more time you request the more likely the TRV will be refused.

You can book tickets for the duration that your parents would like to visit..... even for 6 months. Do keep in mind that it finally depends on the immigration officer whom they meet at the POE ie whether they are allowed entry for 6 months or less.

It's best if you book tickets that allow for a date change

Parents are granted trv multiple entry. If I go for open return tickets it cost much more than normal return tickets. So confused.

Generally, open tickets are more expensive. You'll have to check with the airline or travel agent for prices and fare conditions
