Return Ticket Before Applying for TRV

Hello All

would appreciate if anyone can help me with the below matter

I am about to apply TRV for my Father & Younger Sister and like to ask if I purchase a return ticket in advance and provide it as a proof that they will return. Will it make their case more stronger or it will only be a waste of money.

Waste of money. Don't buy a ticket until the TRV is approved.

Return airline ticket doesn't actually prove they will return.

Not advisable to buy anything before TRV is approved as will just be a waste of money and travel insurance is likely non refundable.
