Hi Guys,
My Canadian employer allows me to work from India for 6months. I wanted to know if there will be any issue if i happen to stay for more than 6months while i get paid in CAD$ by canadian employer? any tax issues? or residency issues?

There are no tax issues.

In terms of residency issues, this time will be counted as time spent living outside of Canada (not inside of Canada) and will not count towards your PR residency requirement. As long as you still meet the 2 out of 5 year residency requirement by physically living in Canada, there will be no issues.

You need to speak to CRA about your tax residency status. You also may lose your health coverage and need to rapply when you return to Canada depending on how long you’re outside Canada and what province. A valid card does not mean that you’re entitled to coverage.
