Hello,

I landed as a PR in July 31, 2014.
From 2014-2018, I still live in Indonesia (but visiting every year to Canada) until this past January, 2018 I finally able to move fully to Canada.
I now have a full-time job now in Canada and I have applied sponsorship for my wife via in-land application.
She already got her work permit for 3 years as well.

If I calculate my total residency (without me travelling abroad anymore); the total days I spent in Canada would be about 715 days (still short by 15 days).
I've been reading the forum and found that it will be okay if you overstay until you meet the 730 days then renew the PR.

Now my real question; I have airmiles expiring by end of this month.
I am planning to travel to the US for about 1 week for vacation in April.
Is this something worth risking or not?
What are the chances of being rejected / reported at port of entry?
I have established a job since last February here in Canada and planning to continue to live in Canada.

Thank you for your time and suggestion.

Cheers,
Arnold

Because you have been a PR for less than 5 years, you can do this calculation.

Add up ALL the days that you have been outside Canada since the day of your landing. If it's more than 1095, you are in breach of the Residency Obligations and should not be attempting to sponsor, in case your own residency is examined. If it's less than 1095, add in the potential vacation days in next April. Recalculate again. If still less than 1095 days, you are good to go. Otherwise, do not leave the country. You will be permitted to reenter but if you are reported, your PR will be at risk and your sponsorship, if not completed by then, will be put on hold.

Thank you for the respond.
I guess I know the answer that I will risk it if I ever leave Canada. Thank you.
I'll stay in the country I guess.

Why risk it? Stay in Canada and guarantee you will clear the RO! :D travel later, or travel within Canada.
