Dear members,

I have filed a PR renewal application including a proof of travel (in order to expedite the processing time). I've in a week or two I received a letter from immigration stating the following:

"Your new PR card has been received at a CIC location. According to the Immigration and Refugee Act, all permanent residents of Canada are subject to a residency assessment at the time of distribution of their new PR card. An immigration official will review your docs and may request additional info to determine your eligibility for a PR card.

Required docs:
-All passports and travel docs (current & expired)
-Original record of landing, confirmation of PR
-Valid photo ID issued by the province (e.g. driver's license, health card)
-Expired PR card."

My question now is what do I expect from this residency assessment? What do I need to do to be prepared? Could there be a chance for myself not receive the new PR if the official is not satisfied with the findings? What do they look for during this assessment?

I would really appreciate ANY possible tips and help into this matter.

CIC will determine if you have met the residency requirements in the 5 years previous, i.e. 2 years residency.

Thanks for the reply.
I understand that is what they will be looking for. But how will I be prepared?

What do you need to prepare for? You take your passports, they check your stamps to confirm you exits and entry to Canada.
