Last July, my work permit expired, but I didn't receive an AOR, so I applied for a student visa to stay. I stayed for a year on a student visa, but I'm still waiting because I was stopped by security. I'm also wondering how to extend my visa and if there's no other answer besides a student visa.

I'm trying to extend my study permit again to go to college. But due to financial problem, I want to work, so I want to know what other methods I can use now besides a study permit.

If you want to work then you need a LMIA with job offer from a Canadian employer. The LMIA proves no Canadian has the work experience, education and language skills to do the job, only you. Then you apply for a closed work permit. Chances are low given changes to the LMIA system and want it to be high wage and skilled.
