required Visa for family

My wife got a work permit for canda , we have a kid 2.5 year old , I am already having a work set up in india so it is difficult to move with my wife presently. I want a dependent visa for my mother in law who can take care of my daughter during the stay of my wife in canada. Can you suggest how can i apply visa for the same.

There is no such visa for a mother in law to accompany someone on a work permit other than a visitor visa.

Even if she had a visitor visa she would have to be aware that apart from the fact there would be a maximum stay per visit of 6 months (could be less) that if sole reason for being in country would be to look after a child that would be considered as work and illegal.

She is not a dependent or even considered a family member in immigration terms.Only you as the spouse or your children are dependents
