Requesting the change of Consulate

Hi Friends,
I applied to CIC NS (First application) and have chosen Buffalo as the consulate (for my second phase). But my stay in the USA is uncertain now...as I am planning to go back to India. If I get initial AOR from NS recommending me to apply next phase to Buffalo, then can I change my Consulate to New Delhi, India instead of Buffalo? As I have not received my first AOR yet, can I request them now itself to change my consulate from Buffalo to New Delhi?

Most likely no, if they have processed your application at the CIO, they will not change your visa office to New Delhi.

However, if would like to give it a try before the CIO sends you the approval letter, fill out the page of the application form again which has the visa office requested for the processing of your application attached to an explanation letter, and send them with courier as soon as possible to the CIO. If they receive it before they issue your approval letter, they might respond to your request.


Do it today even now, do not wait until you get more answers from anyone. The time matter is very important in such a case.
