request of police certificate

hi guys here iam with small but a confusing question
i just went to obtain a police clearance but the police asked me whether i have a request latter from the cpc-m
iam in kenya and to obtain a clearance is diificalt iam not a kenya nor i have a ny document to show my status in kenya
any help

Your question is not very clear and not briefed about you.
If you are not a legal resident of a country where are currently, how can you ask for a PCC from that country.?. You should have a legal visa status in that country.

But if she's spent more than 6 months there, legal or not, she'll still have to get a certificate, right? We had to get one for the U.S. and Spain even though my partner had no legal status there (well initially he did and then the visa expired). Basically it came back with 'no criminal record'.

I have no idea how it works in Kenya, but we just had to tell them it was for immigration purposes and they did the report for us.
