HI, This morning I received an email asking for a copy of our marriage certificate, an updated police certificate as mine is 6 months old now and additional information on the background declaration. This I think is routine.

On the original form I put addresses and personal history going back 10 years, however the office is asking for information going back to 18 years of age - is this unusual? I probably can remember most of the addresses, but some not in full. Do you think this will be a problem?

Also, I am currently in Canada on a visit, so should I put my UK address AND my current temporary Canadian address as the most current information?

Border guard was happy with my intention to visit and I have a return ticket and passport stamped for six months.
I would like to update the outland spreadsheet, is this classed as one of the stages of note?
Thank you.

I've heard a lot about CIC requesting info going back to age of 18, my friend got hit with this but luckily for me even though the forms say go back 10 years I put down my history from the age of 18

So no this is not unusual and I wouldn't worry to much about the addresses not being in full especially if this was quite a while ago

I'm actually more surprised by the request for a new police certificate because mine will be 6 months old now so its making me wonder if they will request the same from me

Since your in Canada for a while I would put down both addresses

Hope this helps

Not surprised at all . It seems to be a normal request these days . I filled out back to 18 and my husband is 52 . We were able to find postal address off line but keeping the dates all together was a tough one. Thank god he has a good memory because he moved a lot . As for me i stay for ever in the same place. lol Don't understand the police certificate though. When did you apply ?

I sent off forms mid-december 2013 but the police form is dated 1/11/2013.
I thought they didn't want the certificate to be older than six months when you apply. Seems odd to have to go through another application now. I am hoping I can just update the old one with new address and I don't have to supply photo etc. as the police association keeps documents on file for 12 months.
