Dear Fellow Members,

I have applied as a Federal Skilled Worker through Express Entry and I received an Invitation to apply in July. My PR application was submitted in September. While doing all this, I was in New Jersey, USA. I have now moved back to Bangalore, India (end of November). My application is still "Open" and "In Process". I am looking to Change my address, and was wondering if any of you could please help me with information.
1) I see that address change has to be done online (for people applying from outside Canada through Express Entry). Where exactly should I do the Change?
a) Should this address change be done in the Express Entry application (which is already submitted) by logging on to MyCIC?
b) Should this address change be done in the PR application (which is also already submitted) by logging on to MyCIC?
c) Should I update this address at the "Check your application status" (after logging in with my Unique Client Identifier, Last name, DOB and place of Birth)?
Or, should I do this in all these places? Has anybody going through the Express Entry route done a Change of Address?

Any helpful information and guidance is much appreciated!

Many thanks in advance and for having the patience to read my posted q.

Regards,

You can submit CSE. The link for that is given below.

Dear Alpha4906,

Many thanks for your response. Just to confirm, I have to choose "Express Entry" for type of application and type my new address at the space given below?

Also, there is a space given below to "Upload Documents". Should I include a cover letter requesting for Change of address? Should I include any evidence with regard to this Change in Address? If I do this, I do not need to change the address in the EE application or PR application (which when I checked says "Transmitted" and doesn't let me modify anything)

I read that it says that address change takes upto 5 business days, has anybody actually done this and been successful? (I ask this because, I once encountered a technical problem with MyCIC and posted several enquires in CES with nobody replying to my requests).

I appreciate all the helpful guidance and information.

Many thanks,

Hi #RA#,

You have to select EE and you can upload letter of explanation but you need not to submit any proof. You can submit the proof if they ask you one. You cannot make the changes in MYCIC after application submission. The application gets locked once you transmit it.

I think you can change the address from ECAS also but I am not sure about that option. The ecas access is not working for me from long time.

They will send you response once they attach the documents to your file. The response time can be from 10 to 30 days.

Thank You

Alpha4906

Dear Alpha4906,

Many thanks for your timely and helpful information. I shall do as you advised and hopefully things will work out (they will update) sooner rather than later.

I appreciate all your help.

If I do have further questions, I shall post it and request your time with my questions.

Your welcome. Best of luck with your application..

Dear Alpha4906 and fellow members,

Since I moved from USA to India (in November), I am no longer employed by my US company. Should I update this as well?
(I know I am supposed to update any loss of employment or job offer in Canada, as this will affect my total points, but changing my employment status in the USA is just an update in information), so, is this change required to be updated? and if so, do I do it in the same CSE form where I update my address, or should I do it in a new CSE form?

I appreciate all your time and help.

Many thanks,

Hi #RA#,

Keeping the information up to date with CIC is always a good idea. I think you should inform CIC and you can do this in one CSE or multiple. It is all up to you.

Thank You
