How do you go about reporting the end of a marriage? What could happen if I don't report it?
We have been married since 2007 and have been initially approved for the sponsorship but it has been delayed due to his inability to prove his identity(he left his country using fake documents I think and went to Europe under a different name and then came to Canada 5 years later when he wasn't accepted there - using someone elses passport) Long story short, our marriage has been awful - never spent time together, he was always out and I was just there to fill paperwork for work permits and anything else he needed. He had multiple affairs, even a child with another woman.
We have seperated but he has asked me to keep using my address and not to tell anyone that we aren't together. I have heard second hand that he only married for immigration but have no proof and don't think I would want say anything about that.
Anyways I just want to know what I should do here...Would talking to our member of parliment be a good start? She was always our go to for questions and help communicating with CIC.
