Hi, everyone!
3 years ago, I stayed in Canada for a year with a Work permit and extended my stay in Canada as a Visitor. I got a approval mail (so I know the document number) but I couldn't see my Visitor record document and returned to my country. Because it took too long to wait to get the paper before I left in Canada.
The passport when I went to Canada now expired and I have a new passport. I don't think it's going to be a problem if I'm traveling to Canada with my new passport now.
But the thing is I need a copy of my Visitor Record for proving I was in Canada legally.
I found out it is able to get a replacement from CIC online.
BUT they say:
(On the site)
You may request a replacement or a temporary resident document if it is lost or stolen. You must provide the police report number that validates your current and valid temporary resident document has been lost or stolen.
(IMM 5009)
Indicate for which of the following you need replacement copy or a Verification of Status document. If you have more than one valid temporary resident document, indicate the document ID number or if unknown, the document issue and expiry date of the requested document.
I am wondering if it is possible to reissue the document that is no longer valid.
Or Can I just fill out IMM 5009 and mail my application?
→ Is it possible to replace a Visitor Record paper that has already expired?
If anyone knows about this problem, please help me.
