What I should do
Should I take a hotel for a week's time and find an apartment with physical checks
Or is there any other method to book an apartment from India in Halifax NS
Or could I get a boy's hostel
Or should I take a room in University campus

Either can work. You can book a motel (cheap) and see the apartment physically, or you can apply for on campus residence or hostel. It is your choice. Or, if your school has offcampus housing that are willing to help and see the apartment, you can go that route. But work on getting a study permit approved first, it is good you are thinking ahead.
