Please correct me if I'm wrong

Implied status as I understand is the status that you automatically obtain after your temporary status expires, when you have submitted an application for permanent residency. You get that status as opposed to a person who has not submitted an application for PR in which case removal steps would begin.

You can still renew your temporary status if you want, but you don have to.

If you apply to renew:

* if you get it then that would be your status until it expires again and then implied status would kick in again.
* if you don't get it, implied status would kick in again, right? unless you get a departure order, in which case would go against the in-Canada nature in your PR application.

I believe that CIC should not have any temporary application processed when you have a PR application ongoing.

Comments please.

Completely wrong. Implied Status is given when a person applies to extend their temporary residence status prior to expiry of their current status. Applying for PR does not give status.

Yup, totally wrong about that.

Has your legal status already expired?

If so, when did it expire?
