Renewal of Study Visa/Passport

Hi all,

I have a question with regards to the renewal of my study permit.

I obtained a study visa, to do my PhD in Canada, which only expires in 2020. However, my South African passport expires next year (2018).
So my question is, what is the process of getting my study visa transferred to my new passport?
