Hey guys,
I'm kind of worrying about renew my study permit and visa.
My passport expires in April 2014 so is my study permit and visa
I already have my passport renewed.

Here is my story. It's a bit complex.
I am a student in u of Waterloo. I was first enrolled in non coop math program and started in uw in sep.,2012. I had good standing for my first two terms in uw. Avg around 75 to 80 and no F no withdraw no drop.

I found out I don't really like math so transferred from math to faculty of engineering in spring term 2013. It's a coop program. As a transfer student I was exempted from two engineering courses and I need to pick two electives so I met the 6 courses requirement for full time engineering student.
However by the time the school notified me the decision, it was the 2nd week of class. Lots of class were full and with a schedule in engineering, there was barely any class that could fit in.

I end up took German and programming. I passed German with a 50. And I fail the programming one because it was too hard for me.
I wasn't in exactly great health condition that term either. I had to defer two of my finals due to illness.
My gap for that term dropped to 55 and I got two Fs. I had to repeat that term in spring 2014. I went on a coop term fall 2013. I got credit for that and an online course related to coop term. And now I'm still in Canada but due to the rules of faculty, I could not select any courses this term. So I have nothing to do this term. I study and I'm also doing some volunteer work.

The thing is would that academic record affect my study permit renew? I checked on cic website they only require a letter of enrolment for study permit. But transcript is required while applying for an entry visa.
For spring 2013, I got 2 courses around 70. Two 50 something. And two fails. That looks really bad I know...I'm gonna work harder if I had a chance to stay this spring.

Some one told me it is okay as long as uw hasn't kicked me out. But still I'm worried. Should I attach a letter to explain my situation?

Thanks a lot. Please help me? :)

You can get a letter from your University stating when your program will be finishing. That was enough in my case. I don't think you need transcript for entry visa (TRV), you just need a valid study permit. SO, once you get your study permit, you are good to apply for TRV.

Do not they go together?
No, TRV is only required for travelling purposes.

Your need something from the university. You letter without university back up will not help you.

so cic does not care if im enrolled this term? i will be back full time at school in may 2014. due to the school rule, i cannot enroll in any class for this term. will this be a big problem? i asked my school they said if im not enroll in any class this term, they have to put this on the letter of enrollment :-[

You will have to apply and find out. If you apply online there is an option to upload a letter of explanation(it's optional), you can write one explaining your situation and how you plan to study hard and get good grades in the future terms.
If you sending a paper app. you can include a letter with it as well.
Hope this helps.
